Is today's Journalism paid or really objective?

the last days we saw some really good examples of lobby work.

yes, i'm referring to the last so called biased reviews of engadget and the upcoming review of mobile-review. (i know i couldn't read it yet, but, considering of my experiences from the published reviews, i really hope that it doesn't confirm my prejudice about it).

the worst thing is: some sites or people claim to be indepent or free of influences, but they're not! i think no one can call himself really objective anymore. we are driven by our experiences, prejudices, social or political background or simple by our environment.

but, it's always up to the reader to decide, if he can trust that source, what is the motivation of the author or is this a personal opinion or just a copycat of some press text. it's like reading a newspapers. you know always, that they're biased from one or another political party.

some people tend to believe all that written articles too early and don't read any further to make their own judgement. they're lazy. that's why it's very easy for public relation companies or advert firms to cook up some marketing compains.

you may say, what he is talking about? i'm known as the Nokia_Fan and i'm not free either of some influence. but i try to be objective as i can be, when i'm writing my reviews or shout out my opinion. if someone is reading it and knowing my background, it will be a different thing, as when i say i'm indepedent on the one hand and on the other a mobile company is paing my bills...

so, stop whining and start to make your own judgment and opinons about things, news and other stuff. we are depending on some big heads and sometimes to the crowd. but this is the reverse of the medal in social webs: things could be good or bad, which are coming from the crowd, but they could be exploited easily aswell.

so, down be a lemming, get your head out of the sand and start question things!

what do you think? who is really objective in the social or mobile webs? post a comment below... :-)
