Nokia announced a Series 40 Touch and Type device: Nokia X3-02

The Nokia X3-02 is the latest X-Series device and the first phone with a touch display and a keayboard combined in a candybar case. it should be available in Q3 2010. this 78g candybar device is 9,6mm thin with a 2.4-inch QVGA resistive touch screen.

"A new release, version 3.4, was recently announced, and it describes the Java ME development environment for Nokia S60 5th Edition and Series 40 6th Edition mobile devices.

 

The Getting Started section of version 3.4 provides new streamlined instructions for creating your first MIDlet. Other new content in the library includes preview information about Java Runtime 2.1 for Symbian, usage guides on MIDlet diagnostics and on-device debugging, and information about tap detection in the S60 5th Edition’s Touch UI. The Java Developer’s Library version 3.4 is available in three formats: online, Eclipse plug-in, and standalone."

New release of ActiveFile v1.44 for Symbian

ActiveFile has been updated to Version V1.44 and it's now released as Open Source software under GPL licence.

  ActiveFile is an useful tool for Symbian phones, that can make navigating around the files in your phone a lot easier.

New Series 40 Platform SDKs are available

Great News Folks:

Final version of the Series 40 5th Edition SDK, Feature Pack 1 Lite is now available!

according to the Nokia Forum Blog it will be a huge impact :-)
