O Nokia, where art thou?

it has been quite a while since i had time to write my own view about the recent mobile market and Nokia's part in it. some recent posts e.g. Randall's Tabula Crypticum, (inspired by a WJS post: Nokia Styles comeback plan) or Rick's look at the new Windows Phone Mango made me think about Nokia's recent situation again.

New Android Market is coming

Google is polishing their core apps and making some changes to the: Android Market Client
 
Dirk Dougherty posted on the Android-Developers Blog that the new Android Market client will be rolled out on the mobile devices within the next 2 weeks.

Changing names and switching platforms?

 

nower days we all could see that a lot of Nokia enthusiasts and hardcore fans
are changing their names to more generic or even switching to other platforms or brands for good.
 
 
[i will not change my twitter name for instance, but as you can see i was always open for other mobile gadgets, OSses and brands.] 
 
is this the so called: "The rats are leaving the sinking ship"?

 

Google Maps Navigation 4.1.1 Beta available for Android phones

Google's free turn-by-turn voice guided navigation is available on Android phones. it supports Android 1.6 OS, too.

 

according to engadget, they tested it in UK already and made a few Pics about it.
