Sygic Mobile Maps 10 for Android – a small preview
A few months ago i could show you how Sygic Mpbile Maps 9 for Maemo on a N900 looks like and behaves in real life situations.

the development is going further and further, so Sygic has released more and newer versions of their turn-by-turn navigation software. there is a FREE upgrade for those, who already owns a Mobile Maps 9 for Maemo: they can upgrade to version 10 for free.
Sygic has also managed to get their software ported to the Android platform: Sygic Mobile Maps 10 for Android. Once i get back my N900, wich i lent for a trial, i will do a comparison on MM10 for Maemo on N900 vs. MM10 for Android on Samsung Galaxy S.

But first i’ll show you here the Mobile Maps 10 on Samsung Galaxy S (i9000). When you download the data from Sygic after you’ve purchased it. the installing process is very similar to the installing you’ve already seen for Maemo.
Here are some screen shots from the main menu:

i cannot say anything about the navigation so far, because GPS, which is built in on Samsung Galaxy S is not reliable at the moment. According to Samsung there will be an firmware update to fix this GPS issue. So, i’ll have to wait until then.
But i’m preparing for a face to face comparison of Sygic Mobile Maps 10 on Android vs. Maemo. Stay tuned and wait for the great comparison :-)
