Great news folks: my new Anroid toy arrived from Amazon today. i know, usual you read here some news about N900 or Symbian smartphones, but it's good to look left and right and realize that there is so much more :-)

And so i've read about the new Samsung flagship for Android: Samsung Galaxy S i9000, besides the also available Bada flagship from Samsung : Samsung Wave.

here are some first pics about the unboxing and size comparison to the Nokia N900:

the first thing, that is very an eye catcher: 4" Super AMOLED display. the second thing: this is a very fast device. it has the ARM A8 1Ghz processor 512MB RAM and the  GPU (Graphical Processot Unit) PowerVR SGX 540 is twice as fast as the GPU PowerVR SGX 530, which is built-in the new IPhone 4.

i already flashed it with the newest firmware to avoid some glitches i've read about a few days ago...

here is the current quadrant benchmark. 865 Points right from the start without tweaks, is good i suppose :-)

i'll have to get used to Android OS 2.1 and will post a full review of it in a few days or weeks. it depends on how long i can stay without my daily dose of Maemo and Nokia gadgets:-)
