"Near Here is a very straightforward and powerful mobile application for Nokia S60 3rd Edition and 5th Edition devices. The developer Staron claims 500 different categories of information are available, and while I didn’t have time to check out all of the variations, I don’t doubt their claim.

Basically, if you can name the type of information that you want at your locality, Near Here will supply it. The application connects to Ovi Maps, so it can show the locations you find on street, terrain, 3D and other types of mapping. Like other Staron applications, Near Here uses the Skyhook technology to find your location, and it does so as quickly as I could ask for it.

Overall, Near Here is a great app for retrieving information from the standard databases. It is not a social networking app, nor did I find current listings, headliners and times for the comedy clubs that it listed in San Francisco, so one must realize the app’s limitations. For what it attempts to do, it does a great job."
